Discover your best options to combat sagging skin, jowls, and an undefined jawline with a Mini Facelift by Dr. Newman in Fairfield County, CT.
Everyone ages at a different rate, and many of our patients in their thirties, forties, and fifties are not ready or don’t need a full facelift. One alternative that offers beautiful, natural-looking results with a less invasive approach is the mid or mini facelift. Furthermore, liposuction can be combined with mid-facelift surgery to enhance the neck and jawline. As a result, greater contouring of the cheeks, jawline, and mid-facial region can occur, often reducing skin laxity and the appearance of jowls. Mid-facelift surgery from our Fairfield County plastic surgery clinic usually requires less downtime than a full facelift, and individuals seeking facial rejuvenation with a shorter recovery period may benefit from this treatment.
defined and contoured
The mini facelift is a procedure designed to lift fat, skin, and underlying tissue that have begun to sag in the mid-facial area and reposition them to a higher, more youthful location. Instead of patients undergoing a full facelift, a mini facelift is a modified version to target sagging skin and focuses on the lower half of your face for a more defined and contoured appearance.
Depending on your situation, your personalized Fairfield County mini facelift will focus specifically on the signs of aging bothering you the most.
Dr. Newman’s decades of experience, combined with his knowledge of the latest techniques and technological innovations, provide you with the perfect combination of expertise, care, and innovation. We call it “The Newman Difference.”
You are an ideal candidate for a mini facelift if you see excess skin or jowls you want to be fixed. The mini facelift offers fewer incisions but still provides dramatic results. During your consultation for mini facelift Fairfield County plastic surgeon Dr. Newman will assess your skin laxity and determine the best treatment plan to achieve your aesthetic goals. Patients under 50 typically see significant improvements along the jawline and mid-face area with a mini facelift.
Your outpatient procedure, while called ‘mini,’ is still a significant surgery. While it is not as comprehensive as a full facelift, the mini facelift offers fewer incisions with significant excess skin removal and repositioning. Once you are under general anesthesia, Dr. Newman will make tiny incisions around your ears and hairline. He removes excess tissue and skin and secures the underlying tissue. By resuspending the underlying supporting tissues through a process called plication, Dr. Newman redefines your cheeks and jawline while avoiding a “windswept” look to deliver a natural, youthful appearance.
Once your incisions are closed, Dr. Newman will apply a conforming dressing to minimize bruising and swelling. Your sutures remain for five to ten days. It is important to adhere to all of your post-operative instructions. Your recovery is expected to take approximately a week to ten days, but some patients return to work as early as a week! Once your swelling dissipates, your full results are noticeable. It is essential to maintain an anti-aging skin care regimen for optimal results.

During your consultation, you can discuss the mid-facelift with Dr. Newman and determine if a mini facelift or a full facelift will better give you the results you desire.
During your surgery, you will be under general anesthesia. During your recovery, you will have bandages to keep the swelling and bruising down for the first 24 hours, which will then be replaced by a lighter wrap around the head or neck that you can adjust yourself. Any pain and discomfort can usually be handled by over-the-counter pain medications.
Mid & Mini Facelifts are less invasive alternatives to a traditional facelift that can help you feel more confident in the way you look. As noted above, the mid-facelift is often performed in conjunction with liposuction of the neck as an alternative to the full facelift procedure. The mini facelift procedure can also be combined with other facial plastic surgery procedures for a more comprehensive facial rejuvenation. Patients can complement their mid-facelift procedure with complementary procedures like eyelid surgery and laser skin resurfacing.
During your consultation with Dr. Newman, you can discuss non-surgical treatments such as Botox, dermal fillers, along with other skin rejuvenation therapies. Solutions for all types of skin concerns are available and Dr. Newman will help you determine the best course of action for your needs.
Complications are rare, but side effects of a mini facelift include bruising, pain, and swelling. Even though the procedure is called a ‘mini’ facelift, the procedure is still a significant surgery, though it is much less involved than a full facelift.
Your procedure is uniquely tailored to your specific needs. The price of the procedure differs with each patient based on their treatment plan and whether or not there were additional add-on services. The cost of your treatment is discussed thoroughly during your consultation.
A mini facelift is typically not covered by medical insurance. However, Dr. Newman does offer payment and financing options for your convenience.
